Michael S. Cronin, P.G.

Michael Cronin is a practicing geologist with 22 years of experience. He has a wide variety of environmental experience related to UST sites, RCRA sites, and CERCLA sites. He specializes in environmental project management, data analysis and reporting, subsurface investigation, site characterization, and remedial design and implementation. Mr. Cronin has extensive experience performing environmental field sampling and drilling oversight; as well as remediation system design, construction, operation, maintenance, data collection and analysis, and system optimization.

Relevant Experience

  • Project manager and technical lead for a petroleum release site in Gunnison, Utah.
  • Project manager and technical lead for a ranch in Jackson, Wyoming, which has pesticide, dioxin, and used oil contamination.
  • Project manager and technical lead for a former dry cleaner site in Sandy, Utah, which has PCE impacts to soil beneath the strip mall in which the dry cleaner was located.
  • Managed multiple UST release sites in Utah and Colorado, from initial investigation through site closure.
  • Lead geologist and project manager for groundwater investigations at the former Geneva Steel facility.
  • Primary author of the RCRA Facility Assessment and Sampling and Analysis Plan documents. Coauthored the permit version of the Closure Plan for the RCRA closure of Tooele Chemical Agent Disposal Facility in Stockton, Utah.
  • Designed and implemented remedial actions involving excavation and offsite disposal of impacted soils; bioventing; nutrient amendments and injections to promote biodegradation; injection of oxygen-releasing compounds; total fluids extraction; air sparging; soil vapor extraction; free product recovery; integrated, mobile, bioremediation systems, consisting of biosparge, biovent, and nutrient injection subsystems; and an air-circulated diffusive oxygen emitter system.
