Relevant Experience

  • Advised prospective purchasers on cost, timing and constraint issues to redevelop heavy metals-impacted properties for residential and commercial reuse at Brownfield Redevelopment of former smelter and tailings sites in Salt Lake Valley and Park City, Utah.
  • Developed and implemented cost-effective site investigation/remediation plans approved by the Utah Voluntary Cleanup Program, integrated cleanup during construction activities, provided health and safety and air monitoring oversight, prepared and implemented approved soil management plans to ensure compliance with certificate of completion, environmental covenant, and land use restrictions.
  • Works closely with environmental regulatory program managers on numerous metals assessment projects for Park City and Salt Lake Valley property owners. Recent project experience includes the assessment and removal and offsite disposal of mine tailings from a commercial development within Prospector Square following the Park City Landscaping and Maintenance of Soil Cover Ordinance. The material was categorized as a Beville exempted mine waste. Current projects include the relocation of 50,000 cubic yards of soil impacted by lead and arsenic tailings to prepare for a residential development in Herriman City.
  • Managed dozens of site investigations at sites containing chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, PCBs, heavy metals, methane, and volatile organic vapors. As a Utah-certified UST consultant, managed numerous underground storage tank removals, site investigations, and remediation for soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion under the oversight of the Utah Department of Environmental Response and Remediation, leaking underground storage tank and petroleum storage tank groups.
